Merritt+Pardini provided complete project team services including pre-design and interior architecture. The new 60,000 facility encompasses all city administration municipal court activities with an open space concept. The design grew out of an extensive community involvement process led by a council selected advisory group. Lakewood is a culturally diverse community and the design reflects these origins while relating to its surroundings as the new focus of Lakewood Mall. The architectural theme grew out of the Craftsman style roots of the "lakes cottages" and growing Asian community. Durable materials were used throughout and natural surfaces and finishes expressed where possible. Customer service was the primary objective in laying out service counters and staff work areas.
