City of Whittier Public Facilities
McClaren Wilson & Lawrie prepared the Site Feasibility Study and Civic Center Master Plan for the City of Whittier, CA. The project included assessment of the existing police facility and libraries to explore expansion and renovation potentials Upon determination that suitable expansion for each facility would not be cost effective, the planning team was directed to examine potential sites for replacement facilities.

Potential sites for the library concentrated in Whittier's quaint Uptown commercial district and the Civic Center. Sites for the Police Facility concentrated at the Civic Center.

The team was asked to Master Plan and prepare multiple phasing plans for the proposed facilities which included costing scenarios for each option.

Spaces in the new police facility are programmed to insure ease of efficient 24 hours a day operations. The 911 Communications Center and Latent Print Units have been sized to offer regional services.
